I don’t understand all the negativity in the reviews, yes it’s not set in Bourne territory but it’s tense, fantastically acted and holds your attention.
Please don’t let the negativity stop you from watching, it’s worth your time
I’ve never seen the French original so forgive me for not making a comparison but it would be a shame if the negative comparison was to detract from the enjoyment. Maybe the pacing issues come from binge-watching culture, it’s probably slow if you want to watch multiple episodes in one sitting but I honestly don’t see any problem with that.
